20th Annual Batizado
Capoeira Guerreiros NJ
April 25, 2026 | West Orange, NJ

Join us for a powerful weekend of Capoeira, culture, and community. Hosted by the Afro Brazilian Cultural Center of New Jersey, our 20th Annual Batizado & Formatura welcomes guests, students, and teachers from around the world to celebrate growth, movement, and tradition.
The event will include the Formatura of Instructor Comediante & Contramestre Carcaju
The Batizado is more than a graduation—it's a rite of passage and a celebration of dedication, growth, and community. Students from West Orange, Paramus, and Montclair State University come together with mestres, professors, and guests for a weekend of movement, music, and meaningful connection.
Workshops and rodas will take place throughout the week, with the main event on Saturday, April 25 at our West Orange studio. We welcome players of all levels to join the circle and support our students as they step forward in their Capoeira journey.
All proceeds from this event directly support our Children’s Capoeira Scholarship Program, helping us continue the mission of accessibility, education, and cultural celebration for all.
